Barbarians At The Plates
Folks - the decision was a simple 2:1 win for...
Had To Happen in North Sydney.
Therefore, I would like a quick indication of whom will be attending this Friday night at 7pm:
Who will be attending?
(1) Si! I LOVE Mexican!
(1+1) Si Si! Mexicans love me too!
(0) No Senore, I am not from Melbourne!
err... does this mean I'm showing up to have dinner with myself?
Well, Matt, it looks like everyone who voted for had To happen decided not to go... (except for you, of course.)
< sigh >
This month I am a little broke, due to the just returning to a contract thing... so I'm out unfortunately.
Well it was 4:2... and TBH we seem to have a bit of thjat lately... people voting to go somewhere and then not going there... :( I wonder how we can fix that in the future?
Well we should have a democratic nomination process, as opposed to simply a "Here's where we're going" statement... hang on... I have a thought. We go on hiatus (officially) from November... so... I think what I MAY well do is institute a "Nominate restaurants for the Year" and then we can just have the voting every month :) I think I'll post about that a little later on today (if I get a chance).
We definately need to do something about the situation. For tonight though, I think I'll have to call myself up and apologise that I won't be able to make it out to dinner, and invite myself over for DVDs instead.
I guess it's hard when people who do not intend to come vote, but the quandary is, if somewhere I am not keen on dining wins, I wont go.
To me, this particular one was an inconvenient location, and a cuisine that usually disappoints, so I personally wasn't interested.
Maybe anyone can nominate a restaurant, but you should only vote on which one if you intend to go if that restaurant wins? A vote is then like saying 'I'll come this month if we go here'.
I agree with that. Nominate a restaurant, then ONLY vote if you are attending. However, that's why I note down another vote for who is attending - because of this exact issue. If it's not 'X' restaurant I'm not going (and that's fair enough). I think voting for a restaurant should mean that you WILL go, thence the minimum attendees will be those who voted for it - the reast can be added as requested.
