Kung Hei Fat Choy, Barbarians, and welcome to another year of decadent food!

As the rigors of our debaucherous lifestyle threaten once more to subsume our last shreds of abstemious dignity, it is once more time to kick off Barbarian Plates with the traditional Yum Cha.

I have consulted the oracles, lit incense at a temple, and asked for translation of the mumblings of the priest, and have been rewarded by a window of dates during which our first meeting of the Year of the Ox must occur: Between Tuesday 10th February and Monday 23rd February. (Although the festival itself finishes on the 15th, this was a personal reading, so we'll run with it)

So! First poll of the year!

Poll #1341146 Barbarian Dates - Yum Cha 09
This poll is closed.

I can attend Yum Cha on...

Saturday 14th February, 11am
0(0.0%)
Sunday 15th February, 11am
1(14.3%)
Saturday 21st February, 11am
2(28.6%)
Sunday 22nd February, 11am
0(0.0%)

EDIT: for those attending: 14/2/09 is Vic's wedding, so you should decide if there's enough time to attend beforehand, and Mardi Gras Fair Day is 15/2/09

Second item on our agenda (gah... too many committee meetings...)
Where should we go this year? Nominations for the Yum Cha are open!

I will have to put down for Palace again.
It always seems pretty solid for Yum Cha

Okay, I am out because of the date, so to be fair to those actually who will go, you should probably withdraw my nomination of venue.

To be honest we went for CNY and so I'm not sure I"m going to want to go again, depends when/where you go.

What I will say is definitely *not* the 15th because last time going from Yum Cha to Fair Day was way too much

February is already looking pretty full for me, so I've selected dates that are possible at this stage, but I'll have to see closer to the time whether I can actually make them (I may well just not have the energy and/or fundage for more outings by that stage).

I would say - 22nd looks like the best case so far, probably can't do the 21st, it's too full especially after Hellfire and Black Cherry the night before. But the poll's closed - dammit I missed the posting of it as well...
